The 20th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme can be released this week. According to media reports, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to visit Bihar around July 19.
It is expected that PM Modi will release 20th installment from Bihar itself and the beneficiaries will send 2000-2000 rupees to the farmers’ account. However, this has not been confirmed by the government yet.
The previous installment was released in February 2025. Accordingly, the 20th installment was to be found in June itself. However, due to some technical problems, this time the payment is being seen in payment. Under the PM Kisan Yojana, a installment of Rs 2000-2000 is transferred every four months.
19th installment was released on 24 February
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 19th installment of the PM-Kisan Yojana on 24 February. Under this, an amount of Rs 22,000 crore was transferred to the bank accounts of 9.8 crore farmers.
Farmers get 6 thousand rupees every year
Under this scheme, three installments of 2-2 thousand rupees are given to small and marginal farmers, a year (6000 rupees). The scheme was started in 2019 to provide financial assistance to farmers. This amount is deposited in the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.
Earlier only small and marginal farmers used to benefit
Initially when the PM-Kisan Yojana was launched (February, 2019), its benefit was only for the families of small and marginal farmers. It consisted of farmers who had a combined land holding (joint land) up to 2 hectares. The scheme was revised in June 2019 and its scope was extended.
However, some farmers are still excluded from the scheme. Those who were excluded from the PM farmer are institutional land holders, farmer families sitting in constitutional positions, serving or retired officers and employees of the state or central government. It also includes public sector undertakings and official autonomous body officials-employees.
Apart from these, professionals like doctors, engineers and lawyers, as well as retired pensioners with monthly pension of more than Rs 10,000 and income tax filling in the previous assessment year have also been excluded from this scheme.
