The price of veg plate on a monthly basis has increased by 3%.
The price of a domestic vegetarian plate in India has come down by 8% to Rs 27.10 in June (on an annual basis). In June -2024 last year, the price of Veg Thali was Rs 29.40. Capital Market Company Crisil gave this information in its food plate cost’s monthly indicator.
Crisil reported in its rice bread rate (RRR) report that the price of vegetarian plate has increased by 3% in June as compared to May. In May, the price of Veg Thali was Rs 26.20.
Non-veg plate also became 6% cheaper
At the same time, the price of non-veg plate has come down by 6% to Rs 54.80 in June on a annual basis. In June-2024 last year, the price of non-veg plate was Rs 58.
The price of non-veg plate has increased by 4% in June on the monthly basis i.e. May. The price of non-veg plate in May was Rs 52.60.

Note– Figures are in rupees. These figures reflect the cost of the copy of the plate prepared at home. This is not a retail price of a plate, which includes overhead cost, staff expanses and profit margins. The veg plate consists of bread, vegetables (onion, tomato and potato), rice, lentils, curd and salad. The non-veg plate includes chicken instead of lentils. The price of broiler ie chicken for June 2025 is estimated.

Potatoes, onions and tomatoes are cheap, the price of wedge plate decreased
According to Crisil’s report, the cost of veg plate has decreased due to the price of potato, onion and tomato. The price of tomatoes has come down by 24% to Rs 32 per kg on an annual basis. Onion prices have fallen by 27% and potato prices have fallen by 20%. Due to this, the price of Veg Thali has declined. Potatoes and tomatoes have a 24% stake in the cost of veg plate.
The price of non -veg plate decreased due to falling pric on chicken
This decrease in the price of non -veg plate has come due to a 3% decline in the price of broolers i.e. chicken on an annual basis. The broiler has a 50% stake in the cost of non-veg plate.
At the same time, the price of vegetable oil on an annual basis has increased by 19% and the price of LPG cylinder has increased by 6%, otherwise both the plates could have been even cheaper.

- Crisil’s data also reveals materials including grains, pulses, broilers (chicken), vegetables, spices, edible oil and cooking gas that change the price of the plate.
- The veg plate consists of bread, vegetables (onion, tomato and potato), rice, lentils, curd and salad. At the same time, chicken has been included instead of lentils for non-veg plate.
