Social media platform X has cut the prices of subscription plan by up to 47% in India. For the first time, the company has changed its three subscription plans – basic, premium and premium+ prices.
The company’s monthly web and mobile app basic plan will now be available for Rs 170 instead of Rs 244. At the same time, early basic plan is available for Rs 1,700 instead of Rs 2,591. That is, X has cut the prices of its basic plan by 30%.
Premium plan will now be available for ₹ 470
At the same time, X’s mobile app monthly premium plan will now be available for Rs 470 instead of Rs 900. It has become cheaper 47%. Apart from this, the web monthly premium plan is available for Rs 427, which was earlier available for Rs 650. It has become 34% cheaper.
Premium+plan available for ₹ 3,000
Apart from this, the company’s mobile app monthly premium+plan will now be replaced for Rs 3,000 instead of Rs 5,130. It is 42% cheaper. However, the monthly premium+plan on iOS costs Rs 5,000. At the same time, the monthly web premium+plan of X is available for Rs 2,570 instead of Rs 3,470. It has become 26% cheaper.

Features in the plan of X
Basic Plan: This includes limited premium features such as post editing, long post and video upload, reply priority, text formatting and app customization.
Premium Plan: This plan provides benefits like creator tools such as X Pro, Analytics, Media Studio, Blue Checkmark, Lace Ed and Grocke like increased use limit.
Premium+ Plan: This plan gives add-free experience. This includes the most reply boost, article writing facility and access to radar for real-time trends.
Why did the prices of subscription plan reduce?
According to Moneycontrol, Ilon Musk’s company X has taken this step to cut the price of subscription plan in India to attract the world’s second largest internet market to attract users in India. The X plan of X is high on the mobile app, as the company is charging the in-app commission of Google and Apple from customers.
Musk has long been trying to increase X’s revenue through advertisement. However, a large part of the company’s revenue still comes from Ed. According to an estimate by app intelligence firm appfigers, by December 2024 X earned $ 16.5 million, or Rs 142 crore from in-app purchases through mobile apps.
X launched subscription in India in 2023
