US President Donald Trump has announced a 25% tariff on India. This will be applicable from 1 August 2025.
Today (Thursday, July 31), after the announcement of 25% tariff on India by US President Donald Trump, the Sensex is trading at 81,000 levels at 81,000. The Nifty is also down by about 150 points, it is at 24,700.
Of the 30 shares of the Sensex, 24 declines and 6 declines. Tata Motors, Reliance, Mahindra and Airtel shares are below 1%. Jomato, Tata Steel and HUL have climbed minor.
Out of 50 shares of Nifty, 42 declines and 8 declines. The NSE oil and gas index has a decline of 1.57% and consumer durables by 1.10%. Auto, banking and metal have also fallen.
Mixed business in global market
- In Asian markets, Japan’s Nikkei is trading at 41,020 levels at 41,020 and Korea’s Cospie is trading at 3,243 above 0.33%.
- Hong Kong’s Hangseng index is trading at 24,894 below 1.12% and China’s Shanghai Composite is trading 0.68% to 3,591.
- On July 30, the US Dow Jones fell 0.38% to close at 44,461. At the same time, Nasdaq composite closed at 21,130 above 0.15% and S&P 500 closed at 6,363 below 0.12%.
FIIS has so far in July 42,078 Sold shares worth crores of rupees
- On July 30, Foreign Investors (FIIs) sold shares worth Rs 850.04 crore in the cash segment. At the same time, domestic investors (DIIs) made a net purchase of Rs 1,829.11 crore.
- So far, foreign investors have sold shares worth Rs 42,077.77 crore in July. At the same time, domestic investors have purchased a net of Rs 54,566.45 crore during this period.
- Net purchases of foreign investors in June stood at Rs 7,488.98 crore. At the same time, domestic investors also purchased a net purchase of ₹ 72,673.91 crore in a month.
The market was closed yesterday by climbing 144 points
The Sensex climbed 144 points to close at 81,482 on Wednesday (July 30) on the third trading day of the week. The Nifty also rose by 34 points, it closed at 24,855 levels.
Of the 30 shares of the Sensex, 15 rose and 15 declined. The shares of L&T, Sunforma and NTPC climbed by 4.72%. At the same time, Tata Motors, Power Grid fell to 3.48%.
21 out of 50 shares of Nifty closed up. NSE’s FMCG, IT and Pharma index increased slight rise. Whereas, auto, media, banking and realty index closed to 1%.
