2. Bail of former DHFL director from Supreme Court canceled: Dheeraj Wadhawan will have to surrender in 2 weeks, accused of fraud worth ₹ 42871 crore

The Supreme Court on Tuesday (5 August) canceled the bail of former director and promoter Dheeraj Wadhawan of Diwan Housing Finance Limited (DHFL). This decision has been taken in a big bank loan scam case, in which Dheeraj Wadhawan is accused of scam of Rs 42,871.42 crore. The court has ordered him to surrender within two weeks.
Dheeraj Wadwan was granted bail by the Delhi High Court on 9 September 2024 due to ill. The High Court had said that Dheeraj falls under the category of a “sick person”. The CBI appealed to the Supreme Court against this decision.

3. Anil Ambani arrives at ED office: ₹ 17,000 crore loan fraud case today; Lookout notice was issued on 1 August

Reliance Group Chairman and MD will be interrogated by Anil Ambani on Tuesday (August 5). The Financial Investigation Agency issued summons on 1 August asking him to appear. They have reached the ED office of Delhi.
