EPFO has implemented new rules since 13 August 2025.
EPFO has made the process of connecting UAN to Aadhaar for PF account holders. Now the employees do not have to go to paperwork or again and again to get a profile update or KYC. The UAN can be directly linked to Aadhaar from the digital process, so that all the facilities related to PF will start immediately.
EPFO approval is not necessary for KYC
From August 13, 2025, EPFO has implemented a new rule, in which if you meet the name, date of birth and gender Aadhaar recorded in your UAN profile, then you can link Aadhaar to KYC portal through your employer. There is no need to take separate approval of EPFO in this facility, that is, now the work will be very fast.

Joint declaration form will have to be filled when the name is separated
If there is a difference between Aadhaar and UAN in your information i.e. name, date of birth or gender, then the employer can request changes by filling the online joint declaration form. At the same time, if the wrong base has been linked by mistake, then it can be corrected through the right Aadhaar joint declaration form. Now there will be no long process and many level approval as before.
Fill the form in EPFO’s Regional Office when the company is closed
Employees whose employer is not available, or the company is closed, can submit a physical JD form at the Pro counter of EPFO’s Regional Office. After verification, the Pro puts an online request in the office. That is, the employees of the closed company will also not have trouble in profile or KYC updates.
Link Aadhaar to UAN in Umang app
Umang App is the easiest way to link UAN to Aadhaar. Add UAN to it, verify from OTP, then fill the Aadhaar details and verify the final OTP. The entire process can be done from anywhere for free.
