1. Gas cylinder cheaper: Commercial cylinder price reduced to ₹ 34.50

From today, the 19 kg commercial gas cylinder has become cheaper by ₹ 34.50. Its price in Delhi has come down by Rs 33.50 to ₹ 1631.50. Earlier it was getting in ₹ 1665. At the same time, in Kolkata, it will now be Rs 34.50 cheaper to Rs 1769.

2. UPI Rules Change: You will be able to check the balance 50 times on the app

  • Balance check limit: Now you will not be able to check your bank balance more than 50 times in a day than a single UPI app.
  • Auto-pay transactions time: Auto-pay (eg EMI, subscription or bill payment) will now be in the fixed time slots, not at any time of the day. These payments will be processed in 10 am to 1 pm and 5 pm to 9:30 pm).
  • Transaction status check limit: If a payment is stuck, then you can check its status only 3 times, that too with a 90 second gap every time.
  • Chargeback Process: Banks will not need to get permission from NPCI if the chargeback claim is rejected, this will intensify the dispute solution.

3. Insurance cover on credit card closed

SBI has decided to discontinue free air accident insurance on some co-branded credit cards (Elite and Prime) from 11 August. Till now this cover was available from 50 lakh to 1 crore rupees. This insurance was earlier given in partnership with UCO Bank, Central Bank, Karur Vaishya Bank and Allahabad Bank.

4. Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) became 3% expensive

Oil marketing companies have increased the price of aviation turbine fuel ie ATF by Rs 2677.88 per kiloliter (1000L) or 3% to 92,021.93 per 1000L. This increase can directly affect the fare of the flight. In such a situation, air tickets can be expensive in the coming time.

5. RBI can cut interest rates

This month, the Monetary Policy Committee of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is to be met from 4 to 6 August this month. In this meeting, Governor Sanjay Malhotra can cut interest rates by 0.25%.

Earlier, at the MPC meeting held in June, RBI had reduced the repo rate from 0.50% to 5.50%. The rate cut can directly affect the interest rate of EMI and savings account of your loan. That is, the cuts can reduce interest rates.
