Ilon Musk’s AI Startup XAI’s co-founder and former engineering head Igor Babushkin has resigned. Igor will start ‘Babushkin Ventures’ to work on AI AI safety and research.
In a post on X on Wednesday, Babushkin said that he was leaving the company to pursue his mission’s ‘The Next Chapter’. We want to develop artificial intelligence in such a way that is safe and beneficial for humanity.
Igor Babushkin said- Singularity is close, but the future of humanity is bright
- Today is my last day in XAI, the company that I started in 2023 with Ellon Musk. I still remember the day when I first met Ilan. We talked about AI and future for hours. We felt that there was a need for an AI company that would do something different for humanity.
- Making AI that takes humans forward has been my childhood dream. As a child, I used to consider scientists like Richard Fenman and Max Planck. I was very excited while being a PHD student of Particle Physics in Cern. But new discoveries were becoming difficult, big colors were needed and discovery was decreasing.
In response to Babushkin’s emotional post, Ion Musk wrote on X, ‘Thank you for help in making XAI, we are not here without you.’
- Then I started thinking whether AI can create a solid theory of quantum gravity? Can AI Reiman prove hypothesis? In early 2023 I was convinced that we are close to making superintendents. I noticed that AI could soon be more intelligent than humans.
- The question was how to use this technology for good? Ilonto had been warning of AI’s dangers for many years. Both of us realized that our vision is one – AI which is good for humanity. Just then we gathered more engineers and started Xai.
- Now I am going to start the next chapter of my life. My mother and father immigrated for my children in search of a better world, that is an inspiration for me. I am launching Babushkin Ventures, which will support AI Safety Research and back up to startups that lead humanity forward in AI and agent systems and open the secrets of the Universe. Singularity is close, but the future of humanity is bright.
Alan Musk formed the company on 9 March 2023
Information about XAI was first revealed in April. The Wall Street Journal then told that Alan Musk formed a new company called XAI on 9 March 2023. The company’s headquarters in Nevada, the city of Texas, USA and Musk is its only listed director. Jered Birchle, director of Musk’s Family Office, has been made the secretary of the company.
