In May, 9.42 lakh employees are associated with EPFO for the first time.
In May 2025, 20.06 lakh new members are added to the Employees Provident Fund Organization ie EPFO. This is the biggest monthly growth ever after data recording starting from April 2018. Earlier in April 2024, 18.92 lakh net members were added.
The special thing is that youth and women had the highest share in it. In May, 9.42 lakh employees joined EPFO for the first time, including 2.62 lakh women. Members joined in May 2025 are 4.79% from last April and 2.84% more from May last year.
Apart from this, 5.6 lakh new members are connected to the age group of 18-25 years, which is about 60% of the total new members. According to the Ministry of Labor and Employment, these records have been made due to better publicity of EPFO of awareness among employees.

4.25 lakh women connected to EPFO
In a total of 20.06 lakh new members, 4.25 lakh women were connected to EPFO, which is 7.5% more than June and 15% more from May last year. At the same time, 16.11 lakh old members, who had left the job earlier, are again associated with EPFO.
The highest jobs were found in the service sector
Talking about industries, the service sector gave the most jobs. Manpower Suppliers added 4.63 lakhs, expert services 1.38 lakhs and areas such as security, contracting, textile, engineering and financeing added 8.95 million new members. 44.61% of the total new members came from expert services, with the contribution of Manpower Suppliers to 51.71%.
Most EPFO members from Maharashtra
Five states Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Haryana added 59.98% of the total new members. These states gave 12.03 lakh new members, with Maharashtra at the forefront of 20.33%. After this, states like Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Telangana also contributed more than 5%.
