Shailesh Jejuriker is 58 years old. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella was also in his class during his schooling.

Proctor and Gamble, a company struggling to increase sales, has appointed Shailesh Jejurikar as CEO. This change will be effective from 1 January 2026. Shailesh is currently the Chief Operating Officer of the company.

They will replace the current CEO John Molar. John Moller was commanding the company for the last four years. Moller will now play the role of executive chairman of the company.

His appointment has added another name to the list of CEOs of Indian origin, including names like Sundar Pichai (Google), Satya Nadella (Microsoft), and Arvind Krishna (IBM).

Shailesh Jejuriker is 58 years old. Jejurikar, born in Mumbai and studying at Hyderabad Public School, graduated from Elphinstone College in Mumbai and MBA degree from IIM Lucknow. Interestingly, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella was also in his class during his schooling.

P&G’s current CEO John Molar has turned 61 years old. He has a four -decade long career. In such a situation, the company decided that now the reins should be handed over to a new and experienced person. Moller said in an interview, “I have full faith in my team. Shailesh’s selection will further strengthen our strategy.”

P&G board lead director Joe Gimnez said, “Shailesh has made many significant contribution to the P&G leadership team. He has given great results in fabric care, home care and company’s enterprise markets. He is a great leader and we are sure that he will take the company to new heights.”

Jejurikar is becoming CEOs at a time when the company is struggling with US President Donald Trump’s trade war and economic uncertainty like other companies. P&G had reduced its annual sales and profits estimate in the last quarter citing tariffs and consumer demand fluctuations.

The company’s stock dropped 6.3% so far this year

After this announcement in the shares of P&G, there was no significant change in post-market trading on Monday. So far this year, the company’s stock has fallen by 6.3%, while the S&P 500 index has increased by 8.6%.
