IRCTC joined the Indian Railways in 1999.
The Indian Railways’ online ticket booking service company IRCTC has increased by 7.46% to Rs 331 crore on net profit in the April-June quarter. Last year, the company’s net profit was Rs 308 crore in the same quarter (Q1Fy25).
IRCTC has released the results of the first quarter of Q1Fy26 i.e. FY 2025-26 on Wednesday (August 13). In the first quarter, the revenue of IRCTC rose 4% to Rs 1,160 crore on an annual basis, which stood at Rs 1,118 crore in the same quarter last year.
IRCTC provides catering and tourism service in Railways. The company also operates 2 Tejas trains. More than 12 lakh tickets are booked every day through its website and mobile app. The company also offers flights and bus travel booking.
IRCTC shares fell 21% in a year
Prior to the results, IRCTC’s stock rose by 1.16% to close at Rs 728.90. This year, the company’s stock has fallen 8% and 2% in 6 months. At the same time, IRCTC shares have fallen by 21% in the last one year. The company’s market cap is 58.19 thousand crores.

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is a ‘Mini Ratna (Category-I)’ Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India. IRCTC was included on 27 September 1999 as a branch of Indian Railways.
It aims to manage catering and hospitality in stations, trains and other places. Along with this, domestic and international tourism is to be promoted through the development of budget hotels, special tour package, information and commercial publicity and global reservation system.
