Mukesh Ambani, the country’s richest person, has not taken salary for the 5th consecutive year. He decided not to take salary during Kovid as the chairman of Reliance Industries.
Reliance Industries has given this information in its annual report. He has not even taken allowance, bonus and commission from the company.
Ambani family earns from dividend
Mukesh Ambani remains the 18th richest man in the world even without salary. The reason for this is his 50.33% stake in Reliance Industries and crores of Reliance shares. In 2024-25, Reliance declared a dividend of ₹ 10 per share, which earned a direct earning of ₹ 3,322.7 crore to the Ambani family.
Other family members earned
Mukesh Ambani’s three children, Isha Ambani, Akash Ambani, and Anant Ambani were included in the board in October 2023 as a non-executive director. All three have received 6 lakhs as seating fees for FY25 and ₹ 2.25 crore as commission.
Mukesh Ambani is handing over the command to the next generation
With increasing age, Mukesh Ambani has been working on a plan to hand over his business employee to the next generation for the past several years. On the birthday of his father Dhirubhai on 28 December 2023, Mukesh Ambani said-
Reliance has the future of Akash, Isha, Anant and his generation. I have no doubt that they will achieve more in life and bring more achievements for Reliance than people of my generation.
- Anant Ambani: Reliance Industries Limited appointed Mukesh Ambani’s younger son Anant Ambani as the executive director of the company. Anant will hold this position for 5 years from May 1. Since 2023, he was a non -executive director in the company. Anant was given the command of the company’s energy vertical in August 2022.
- Apart from this, there are Jio Platforms Limited from Anant March 2020, Reliance Retail Ventures Limited from May 2022 and Reliance New Energy Limited from June 2021 as well as board members of Reliance New Solar Energy Limited. He is also on the board of Reliance Palentheropist Arm-Reliance Foundation since September 2022.
Akash was given a retail business to live and Isha
- Akash Ambani: In 2014, he received an Economics degree from Brown University. He then joined family business. In October 2014, he joined the board of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL). He has been the chairman of RJIL since June 2022.
- Akash Ambani has also been involved in the board of Digital Service Business and Reliance Retail Ventures Limited of Reliance Industries, Reliance Industries. In 2019, he married Shloka Mehta. they have two children. Elder son Prithvi and daughter Veda.
- Isha Ambani: Studied from Yale and Stanford. Join family business in 2015. Reliance Retail Ventures, Jio Infocomm, Jio Financial Services are included in the board. Isha was married to Anand Piramal, son of businessman Ajay Piramal in December 2018.
- Isha Ambani is carrying forward the expansion of Reliance Retail. He has launched new formats like e-commerce business AJIO and online beauty platform Tera for Reliance Retail. Reliance Retail has a presence in food, consumer electronics and fashion retail.
