Imperial Blue is the third largest brand in terms of whiskey sales in India.
Manson House Brandi -making company Tilaknagar Industries is talking to French liquor company Paneod record to buy Imperial Blue Whiskey. According to Moneycontrol report, Tilaknagar will collect funds from debt and equity to complete this deal.
Although the price of this deal has not been revealed yet, it can be $ 600-650 million (about Rs 5,150–5,578 crore) as per earlier reports. Tilaknagar has been at the forefront of the race to buy this company since last year.

Tilaknagar Industries stepped into the whiskey market in 2012 via the Manson House brand, but 90% of its sales still comes from brandy. Imperial Blue, which is the third largest whiskey brand in India. By buying it, Tilaknagar can get a big jump in the market.

Japanese company Santori also bid for Imperial Blue
Last month, a report by The Economic Times said that Japanese liquor company Santori has also re -bid for Imperial Blue. Santori was out of this race due to the first of the demand of 1 billion dollars, or Rs 8,582 crore of the record. Apart from this, Inbural Beverages, a company in London’s Entrepreneur Ravi Deol, was also involved in the race for the acquisition.
If this deal is successful, it will be a big step for Tilaknagar Industries. Strong market appearance and sales figures of Imperial Blue can make Tilaknagar a strong player in the Whiskey Market. This acquisition will give the company a chance to strengthen its position in the whiskey segment besides brandy.
